Cpanel And Webmail FAQS

Q. What is CPanel?

A. CPanel is a web based control panel allowing users to
control their web hosting / email accounts.

Q. How do I access the CPanel?

A. You can access the CPanel via http://www.domain.com/cpanel
or via secured https://www.domain.com:2082.

Q. Am I able to send and receive emails over the internet?

A. Yes, you are able to send and receive emails over the
internet via the Webmail.

Q. How do I access the Webmail?

A. You can access the Webmail via http://www.domain.com/webmail
or via secured https://www.domain.com:2096

Q. Why isn't the CPanel the latest version available?

A. To ensure that all features of the CPanel are working
properly, we will only upgrade to a Stable release of CPanel
when it is available.

Q. I can't seems to access cPanel or Webmail from my workplace
or school.

A. Your company/school may have block our cPanel ports. Consult
your system administrator for more information about this.

Q Can we really host unlimited domains on a cPanel reseller
account?

A. Yes you can absolutely host unlimited domains on a cPanel
reseller account. On a cPanel reseller account you also have
unlimited POP3 mailboxes email accounts, unlimited domain
parking, unlimited sub domains, unlimited ftp accounts and
lots more.

Domain Faqs

Q. Does the domain belongs to me after I have purchased it
whether together with a web hosting package or simply just
the domain?

A. Yes, the domain is solely owned by you. Even if you
terminate your web hosting package with us, you will still
remain the rightful owner of the domain.

Q. How long does it take for the domain to be 'ready for use'?

A. Upon receipt of payment, we will process your order, and it
will take between 24 to 72 hours for your domain to
propagate ('ready for use').

Q. Am I allowed to add more domains to my account? Will there
be additional charges?

A. Yes, you are allowed to add more domains to your account and
the number depending on the plan that you signed up with.
And no, there won't be any additional charges, other than
the cost of the additional domains.

Q. Am I allowed to change my domain if I decided not to use the
current domain anymore?

A. Yes, you are allowed to change your domain name. However,
you need to backup all your files first, and inform us of
the new domain name. We will then set up the new domain name
for you, and you will need to restore the files to the
account with the new domain name.

Q. Am I allowed to host adult material on my website?

A. Yes, Just no kiddy porn, If we catch kiddy or copy righted
porn on your site, you are liable. Meaning the site will be
killed, and you could be fined and jailled for this.

Q Am I allowed to host MP3s and movie files on my website?

A. No. You are not allowed to host any MP3s and movie files on
your website, unless you own the copyrights of the files.

Q. Am I allowed to resell my account?

A. No. You are not allowed to resell your accounts in the form
of emails, subdomains, webspace, addon domains, and parked
domains etc.

Q How am I going to manage my account?

A. We provide the popular CPanel for you to manage your
account, such as adding email accounts, creating MySQL
databases, creating subdomains, adding add on domains, etc.

Q. What is Virtual Hosting?

A. Virtual Hosting is where multiple web sites
(www.anyname.com) are served off the same physical server.
This saves each customer from purchasing their own expensive
server, performing the setup and providing the appropriate
environment. This is the most common method of hosting sites
of small to medium size with light to moderate traffic.

Q. Do you have Front-Page extensions?

A. Front Page extensions can be installed for your account.
They are not installed automatically during the initial
setup. Send us a support request and they will be installed
within 24 hours.

Q. What is Bandwidth?

A. Bandwidth is the amount of data moved between your site and
the browsers of the customer's accessing your site. It is
typically measured in Gigabits.


Q I want to change my account plan. How do I upgrade /
downgrade my account?

A. To upgrade or downgrade your account, Just give us a call @
1-800-348-2151 and we will even pay for the call.

Q. What domain names do you support?

A. We support all domains, including foreign domains.

Q. Can we add services as we grow and need them?

A. You may grow at whatever pace you like. All options can be
added or removed at any time.

Q. What is bandwidth and data transfer?

A. While similar, bandwidth and data transfer are actually two
different things. The term bandwidth denotes the amount of
data that can be moved at one time from a web server out
onto a network and across the Internet. You can think of
bandwidth as the diameter of a water pipe. The bigger the
diameter of the pipe, the more water you can move, even if
the water is moving at the same speed. Data transfer (AKA
bandwidth usage) refers to the amount of data/information
sent to or received from your hosting account on the server
over a specified period of time. In most cases data transfer
is measured monthly, although it can be measured daily in
high volume situations. Looking back to the analogy we used
before, data transfer would be the measure of how much water
has actually flowed through our pipe over a given period of
time.


Q. Am I allowed to use CGI scripts?

A. Yes, you are allowed to use CGI scripts.

Q. Can I SSH to my account?

A. Unfortunately, for security reasons we disallow SSH in all
accounts. ( Please contact sales@imsal.com for a reason, And if it can
be fixed with out using SSH, then we will try and fix it )

Q. If I require more monthly data transfer and web disk space,
what should I do?

A. If you require more monthly data transfer and web disk
space, you can email to us and we will customise a plan for you.


Q. Will the price fluctuate over time?

A. IMS Hosting assure all our clients that your price will be
fixed as per the length of your contract. There will be no
changes in the price during the contractual period unless
you decided to upgrade the plan.

Q. What are the billing cycle available to me?

A. We provide the flexibility of payments in monthly,
quarterly, semi-annually, and annually to our clients.
